No more Yves Saint Laurent?

Say it isn’t so, is it really the end of Yves Saint Laurent? Don’t go crazy just yet, because the line won’t end but it’s name certainly will. Yves Saint Laurent got an extreme makeover when the new creative director Hedi Slimane decided that the Yves Saint Laurent ready-to-wear collection would be re-branded as Saint Laurent Paris.
The world famous YSL signature apparently will remain on all previous handbags, cosmetics and shoes but all the specifics are still unclear. We all adjusted just fine when Christian Dior simply became “Dior†and when Coco Chanel’s house was branded as “Chanelâ€, so as long as Saint Laurent Paris keeps delivering stunning fashion and cosmetics the new name will be a small detail we can all get used to.
Saint Laurent Paris will be making its first debut when Hedi Slimane previews his first collection to buyers at the Grand Palais in Paris from Juny 28 until July 4th. For the rest of us, we’ll have to patiently wait until September when he launches womens wear Spring/Summer 2013 during Paris Fashion Week.
