Hyden Yoo S/S

Rainy weather didn’t keep away the crowd of editors, bloggers, and admirers alike flocked to the Hyden Yoo Women’s and Menswear presentation at the Cabanas of the Maritime Hotel. The well-known Chelsea hotspot was transformed into an ode to old Hollywood glam and sexuality as you were whisked away to a party of Great Gatsby proportions.
The highlight of this soirée were models decked in seductive and playful silhouettes casually engaging in conversations with each other while flashing the occasional high fashion pose that made every corner of the room look ripped from an editorial of your favorite September issue. Described as a representation of “notions of the taboo, romanticism, and subtle eroticism during the era of 1920’s neocolonialism†the collection showed deep admiration of the classic sexual undertones and playful nature that trigger a charismatic draw to the possible lover.
Hyden Yoo presented a nude palette with enticing silhouettes that trigger the temptations of chemistry. For the Menswear collection, Hyden introduces us to the more approachable man of charm. As if teleported from a country club, this posh character is well tailored with no fear of setting a trend with pieces such as my personal favorite – an alluring trench coat.
The women stole the show. Provocative designs clinging to the curves of the woman’s body, flirty lengths that highlight long legs, and confidence for days.  As I left the presentation I was ready to spend the rest of the day pining for days of a more innocent love and a less obvious sex appeal that led to the greatest love stories.

Bittersweet

Another Fashion Week done and gone…. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to NYC once again. Had the opportunity to meet some of the most incredible people, designers, celebrities, editors, munsters, ect.
It’s been such a remarkable experience since day one of my journey to achieve whatever it is I’m trying to achieve in this industry. I use to know what my ultimate goal was 2 years ago, but now I feel like that goal is only a starting point to where I can actually take this. I want to go down in history as one of the greats of our generation.
I’ve set so many goals in the past 4 years and overachieved/excelled in everything I’ve put my mind to. Coming from the background I come from even moving to LA was a joke to most people. Growing up I wasn’t really the overachiever or the all American student that people said would do great things. I guess that was a driving point for me to take matters into my own hands and create the future I wanted. I knew at that point I really had nothing to lose, because nobody expected anything out of me anyways.

I use to allow fear to hold me back from saying/doing certain things, but now I embrace it. I don’t fear competition, losses or defeat…I actually love the idea of them. I know if any of these take place it will only make me stronger and better at my trade. The thought only inspires me to get better and achieve greatness at this point.
One goal I really want is the ability to inspire the uninspired…I want to show the kids who think it’s impossible that they actually do have a chance to live their dreams. I don’t care about money or fame or anything. I just want to be remembered for doing great things for the industry I love so much.
IÂ thought I would get that out! Here are fierce photos of my NYFW experience!
General Idea

General Idea was screaming preppy side of Fashion Munster outfits for the spring 2012 season. The color palette reminded me of a trip to Cannes, France (even though I’ve never been) with hues of turquoise and orange ruling the runway! Not to mention these are my two favorite colors right now…I don’t care that its fall either!
I liked how the collection has a very sharp/preppy vibe to it. I was dying over the double-breasted blazers and deconstructed cuts. Definitely a brand to be watched!
I think I found my next fashion week outfits!
Diesel Black Gold

Diesel Black Gold is ALWAYS one of my must see collections each season during NYFW. This season was no exception to my lust for the brand. Preppiness and heavy metallics had the Munster in awe.
I couldn’t help think about wearing some silver metallic pants the second the show was over. It’s a fashion munster must have! It was also a lot of fun getting to meet/greet with RnB artist Common, who did a fierce Fashion Munster Pose for the site. Such a successful show!
