Prabal Gurung for Target

We’ve got a case of Spring Fever, and launching February 10th you can as well! New York-based fashion designer Prabal Gurung has created a massive new collection for Target, characterized by a mixture of modern luxury and glamour.

Inspired by love, this wardrobe is both flirty and sexy, with enough edge that it can be worn other than a date. It’s very Spring, with color splashes of yellows, reds, and blues. Floral prints are thrown in, and the collection consists of dresses and blouses that are to die for. If you plan on grabbing a few of these lovely items, get there in a hurry because not only is this a one time collection, the price point is extremely reasonable for any consumer. A personal favorite is the ruffle red dress sold at $39.99 and the floral print blazer for $49.99.

Target does it once again! Their newest collaboration comes from one of my favorite American Designers Prabal Gurung. The Target collection will feature his trademark esthetics in dresses, skirts, blazers, jewelry, handbags and footwear. The collection will retail for $19.99 to $199.99; accessories will be priced between $12.99 to $39.99.

Prabal had a few words to say below.

“I am so thrilled to be working with Target on a collection that brings my designs to a wider audience,”  “This collection was inspired by love and if Target’s guests can feel even a little bit of the love that I felt while I was designing this collection, then I will consider it a job well done.”

This looks to be a hit for Christmas.

Jason Wu for Target

Thanks to the dwindling economy, many of us Munsters have had to put a limit on splurging money on clothes. Companies such as Gilt Group have helped us stay on top of trends by offering designer clothes at discounted prices, but for a lot of fashionistas, especially those in college, sometimes those discounts just  aren’t enough!

So how can we all stay fashionable while still having money to go grocery shopping? Shopping at Target!

Target has heard our cries for designer clothes that are at bargain prices, and has teamed up with several designers in the past such as Missoni, Zac Posen, and Rodarte. Now a new partnership with Target has been announced. On February 5 Target with be launching its collaboration with Jason Wu.

This collaboration will have a lot of the similar feminine qualities to the designer’s high end brand, but will have inspiration from French New Wave films and the actress Jean Seberg. In an interview, Wu stated, “My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection. Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”

Shoppers can expect to see pleated frocks with sailor-striped hemlines, dainty silk blouses with neck ties and collars, and sportier knits and tennis skirts.
